PuzzleWalk is an engaging application that offers a unique approach to exploring cities worldwide while solving 'spot the difference' puzzles.
The app operates on an innovative algorithm that converts your walking steps into gaming time. The more steps you take, the more time you have to enjoy the game, making walking a crucial element in mastering PuzzleWalk.
By accumulating walking steps and puzzle points, you can achieve a final score that could earn you a gift card each month. With over a hundred cities and thousands of spot the difference puzzles programmed into the app, there's no shortage of challenges to keep you entertained.
Each city features 5 to 10 puzzles, varying in difficulty levels, where you must identify 5 unique spots across two visually similar images.
Key features of PuzzleWalk include rewarding the top three scorers with a $10 gift card monthly, ensuring fair competition through leaderboard rankings, deactivating the game during nighttime hours to promote healthy sleep patterns, and providing comprehensive step tracking functionalities for daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring.
The creators of PuzzleWalk have integrated evidence-based gamification techniques and Behavior Change Strategies to encourage users towards increased physical activity in an enjoyable manner. Developed by researchers from Indiana University's School of Public Health and the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, PuzzleWalk was made possible through funding from the Indiana University Collaborative Research Grants program.
